About the event
When an employee persistently under-delivers on some (or all) of the expectations for their job, and it is not due to negligence or fault on their part, employers are often at a loss in terms of how to address the situation. Or how does one deal with an incompatible employee; or a situation of operational incapacity?
In a workplace environment, it is not all about the rights of the individual employee - these have to be balanced with the interests of the business and the rights of the other employees as well.
There are fair and efficient processes that an employer should follow to -
(1) determine the cause of the situation;
(2) reasonably attempt to rectify the situation;
(3) consider viable alternatives; or
(4) terminate the employment relationship.
Learn about the legal requirements, the strategic considerations and the practical implementation in situations like these. A full slide hand-out and flow diagrams will make the process easy to follow.
The workshop is presented by Judith Griessel, an ex-magistrate and labour law specialist with more than 25 years' experience in employment relations and training.
