About the event

The Code of Good Practice on the Prevention and Elimination of Workplace Harassment places specific obligations on the employer that impact on its whole workplace, including interactions between its employees and third parties. Compliance with the Code can minimise the employer's legal liability in the case of complaints of unfair discrimination in this context.

  1. Introduction – Code of Good Practice: legal framework and application
  2. Substantive issues - Harassment and unfair discrimination, definitions and types of harassment
  3. Procedural issues - Guiding principles from the Code; risk assessment and action plan; practical implementation; staff awareness and legal remedies

Handouts are provided and learning material contains flow diagrams and schematics for easier understanding.

The workshop is presented by Judith and Pieter Griessel, both ex-magistrates and labour law specialists with extensive experience in employment relations and training.
